Cuihu National Wetland Park

China

Working with Eleanor Rennie Architects, Stagg Architects and Wildfowl and Wetland Trust Consulting, Studio Glowacka collaboratively produced the concept design for Cuihu National Wetland Park.

The architectural concept for Cuihu National Wetland Park is a series of pavilions inspired by a flock of birds arriving and landing on the wetland.

The concept for the landscape that surrounds the pavilions is that of intersecting ‘ripples’, which create pathways, water gardens and areas for pond dipping, working wetlands and water play.

The wing-like, coffered roof shells of the pavilions were inspired by the Chinese art of venture folding.
