At Kennington Road the entrance space plays a key role in how the Client lives in this beautiful Georgian house. It is a reception room and main entrance to the house, a painting studio and party room. At Christmas a nativity scene is displayed in the converted shopfront.
When Glowacka Rennie were appointed to work on the project, the entrance space was in need of major interior and exterior refurbishment, storage space and daylight. The roof and roof structure were replaced and a new frameless double rooflight was installed to maximise daylight and open up views between the first floor living room and the entrance space. Bespoke Built-in furniture was installed to accommodate art materials and display the Client’s collectables. Hidden floodlights were installed to illuminate the retained Georgian facade and transform the space into a dramatic night-time party room.
